After 4 years of miles of paperwork, we are at the point of the final stages to start construction on our city sewer system! We still have a few easements to complete and we have moved some for residents who had complaints on the lines trajectory. There has been misunderstandings about how this works and residents were concerned that the easements was taking away 20 feet of their property. In the 4.6 million dollar project $1,150.00 dollars has been put aside for each resident and business to pump out the septic tank and hook up to city sewer. There is No out of pocket expenses to the property owners for this. We understand that a lot of you have not been unable to access a Notary Public to complete the paperwork because of the Covid-19 virus closing down bank lobbies. Saturday May 30th and Saturday June 6th from 9a.m. till 2 p.m. we will have a notary available at no charge and updated enlarged maps for you to see where the lines will run. City Hall will be open from 8-5 the next 2 weeks if you want to come and look at the maps and I will be glad to answer any questions you may have. We will be sending out letters to those who have not signed yet tomorrow Monday, May 18th. On the Saturdays for signing we ask you to wear a mask. If you don’t have one we will provide you with one.
